CHESTER SANDY LANE
Trip Description-Two opttons
- From Sandy Lane we paddle past the elevated and individual Victorian villas with their large gardens leading down to the riverbank. In the loop of the River Dee on the left is the Earl’s Eye Meadow that attracts Kingfishers, Cormorants and Swans, we will also take in the view of the Queen’s suspension Bridge reconstructed in 1923. We will turn around at this point at the sandstone wall surrounding the Victorian Grosvenor Park and paddle back to Sandy Lane.
- From Sandy Lane we will paddle away from Chester City and pass the Red House riverside restaurant and Chester Sailing Club, passing the Duke of Westminster’s estate on the right. On the mile long stretch of the River Dee we will see kingfishers, cormorants and the swans with their cygnets.At the bend of the river we will turn around and paddle back to Sandy Lane.
